Today has been wonderful!
We got up early and had coffee and cakes with Mary and
Massimo. Then we got dressed up and had a glass of Italian sparkling wine
before setting off for the Palazzo Orsetto. On our way there Parth deliberately
led us through the Piazza San Michele so that we could make a splash.
When we got to the Palazzo Orsetto we were very happy to be
met by not only Chiara, the interpreter but Mary and Massimo as well. It was
also nice to hear the harpist already playing.
The ceremony was performed by the president of the Municipal Council who was very stylishly dressed.
After the ceremony our carriage awaited. Carlos, our
carriage driver, took us for a spin around the old city. People waved at us and
clapped and called out “Auguri”, congratulations, as we rode by. There were
also people taking pictures.
We arrived at the restaurant and had a really nice meal but
enjoyed it so much I could hardly breathe in my dress so we skipped the coffee
and headed home.
