Avallon

Okay, so yesterday after getting Parth's emergency passport sorted in Paris, we got back on the road to Italy. We had planned to make our next stop Dijon, but as it would have been quite late when we got there, we decided to stop earlier and there was a nice sounding town called Avallon.

We arrived in Avallon around 8.30 pm and found a Hotel, then had something to eat. After that we went for a pleasant evening stroll then came back and had the best nights sleep of the trip so far. (Catching up from having little sleep the night before, no doubt!)

Smile and say...

  1. It's good to know you managed to have such a good rest in Avallon after your evening walk, recovering from all your traumatic happenings! Getting the impression it's a cosy country town. but it's also got some interesting historic nuggets, like that in 470 the Romano-British king Riothamus disappeared there without trace, from whence sprang one theory it could have been legendary King Arthur. Did you know that Avallon is famous for the manufacture of gingerbread and also of farm implements? Wondering whether you were still going to visit Dijon with its 4-colour glazed roof tiles? Partaking in your journey even just this bit is so interesting and educational. It's great to get a glimpse of the wonders you are seeing and eating! ;-) Lots of love again from US!

  2. Oh I forgot to mention, we had a rainstorm this afternoon which washed away some of the stifling humidity. Saw on the weather forecast that you seem to have something like a heatwave compared to us! Going now to visit his imperial highness the miownzing Hugo the Grey.
Parth, are your family in Indonesia also follow your blog?

    3. Sorry, Son-in-Law, I have proved to you how bad my Geography is. I really thought it was all the same... but it isn't, of course! ;-)Yes, your analogy is very appropriate!
